Leafs getting ready to overpay for Burke

Brian Burke could become the new GM of the Leafs in the next few days. The numbers being tossed around range from $1M to $3M per year. While $1M might be standard for a GM, $3M is just ridiculous. Are the Leafs going to overpay for a star GM instead of using the $8M in extra cap room they have to over pay for a star player...The Blue Jays tried this with JP and are still waiting for results after 7 years.
